According to the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 28 November 2014:
(a) Every academic year shall consist of not less than 200 working days. The period of admission and examinations shall not be included in these working days.
(b) For all theoretical, discussion-based and practical activities, trainees/teacher trainees must have a minimum attendance of 80%. For College-based internship, the minimum attendance requirement shall be 90%.
Attendance is marked in each session. If a trainee remains absent due to any justified reason, the concerned Assistant Professor/Teacher Educator must be informed regarding the matter.
Leave shall not be granted during the internship period. However, in special circumstances, leave may be sanctioned only with permission from the Head of the Institution.
If a student remains continuously absent for one month without prior information and valid reason, the college may take necessary action against them as per the admission guidelines issued by the State Government.
A trainee/teacher trainee shall be granted relaxation only under special circumstances. This relaxation applies only to the concerned individual and not to all others.
