Library (Granthalaya)

For the intellectual development and learning support of students, the college has a well-organized library. Books can be used as per the prescribed rules. Librarians will be responsible for the smooth functioning of the library, and a library committee will assist in its management.

Library Timings

The library will remain closed on Sundays and other public holidays.

Except for major holidays, the library will remain open on the days and times notified by the college.

Types of Books Available

Approximately all required books are available in the library, categorized into the following four sections:

  1. Reference Books
  2. Course-Related Books
  3. General and Various Books
  4. Magazines and Journals

Library Rules

Students/Teacher-trainees must register their names in the library. A library membership fee of ₹100/- and two passport-size photos along with the admission letter and identity card must be submitted.

The issuing dates and timings of books will be notified by the library.

Each trainee may borrow two books at a time for 7 days.

Books must be renewed after 15 days.

No book can be issued repeatedly to the same student more than twice.

Every trainee will receive two books at a time—one syllabus-related and one general book.

In case of loss of the library card, the student must inform the librarian immediately. A duplicate card will be issued after paying ₹50/- and will be available after two days.

At the end of the membership period, books must be submitted compulsorily. Otherwise, a fine of ₹10/- per card will be charged. Membership is valid for one academic session only.

Books cannot be transferred to another student. The borrower is responsible for safe handling.

If a book is not returned on the due date, a fine of ₹10/- per day per book will be charged.

Books must be returned personally by the borrower. Returning through someone else is not permitted.

If the due date is a holiday, books may be returned on the next working day.

If a book is torn or damaged, a new copy must be provided. If out of print, ₹50/- replacement cost will be charged.

It is strictly prohibited to mark, underline, or fold pages of books.

Students must check pages at the time of issue. Missing pages must be reported immediately.

Reference books and magazines can only be used inside the reading room. Taking them outside may lead to fines.

Only one copy of magazines/journals will be issued at a time. Journals must be handled carefully.

No book shall be issued without the permission of the librarian.

Newspaper Section

The reading room has a separate newspaper section. Magazines and materials for mental development are available here. Students may use this section during free periods.

Students entering the reading room must maintain silence to avoid disturbance.
